Moringa oleifera is native to India, tropical and subtropical regions such as Africa, India and the Philippines.
It is attracting attention as a panacea due to its nutritional value, given that all parts can be utilized such as leaf, seed, oil, stem, flower, root. Moringa is rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins; it has anti-inflammatory potential, effects on hypertension and diabetes. In addition, the quality of seed oil is said to be more than olive oil, and various product development is also expected in the future.
Moringa is useful not only for edible use but also for the environment. When putting the squeeze dregs in dirty water, the protein component of the seed adsorbs dirt and makes the water clean, so it is used for water purification.
At BioActives Japan, the extracted powder of Moringa oleifera is standardized for glycoside at 10%.
