Terminalia Belerica, a hardwood tree of the Siksinaceae, has been used as a medicine for liver protection and diarrhea prevention in traditional medicine "Ayurveda" in India. It is mainly found in tropical areas from southeast to southern Asia, and its fruits contain polyphenols abundantly.
